| David West - "Make U Mine" Release Information |
The guys at AVA Recordings don't really want to talk too much about their music, so this will be kept short and hopefully we'll let the music speak instead! Here, AVA Recordings have their second release, by David West, who in our eyes, is one of the best producers in this genre. He has proven in the past why he is such a favourite amongst DJ's and fans alike with his collaboration work under the 'Antiloop' guise, and more recently under his own name. I think you can tell he is a favourite in the AVA Recordings camp. Read on to find out more....
Cutting to the chase, "Make U Mine" is a slice of Progressive Trance (if we have to put a name on it) that has caused a stir amongst the few that have been lucky enough to hear it. I don't think we need to force this beauty down your throat, so here you can take your pick from his original and dub making the most of his vocals in a very creative way. On remix duties is Mike Shiver. Although better known in the Trance scene, we see here that he is also very capable of creating an impressive production in a more progressive manner. His work keeps fairly true to the original, while adding his own unique touches and bassline for those grittier moments throughout. He has also made you special people a dub - just the kind of nice guy he is. Mixes in the package are as follows: a) Vocal Mix TheTranceArena.com's Verdict: David West mixes: The David West mixes are quite simply, Progressive Trance at its best! This track has everything, from a punchy progressive bassline, a vocal that compliments the tune very well without sounding cheesy - and for those that don't like vocals, the dub mix works equally well too, and the track also features nice melodic Trancy synths. Although not being a huge Progressive Trance fan, this tune hasn't something very special about it which really grabs my attention. The quality of the production gets a big 9 out of 10! Great work and a great release by AVA Recordings. Mike Shiver mixes: These mixes came as a bit of a surprise because Mike Shiver is normally a name that is associated to Trance with huge breakdowns, but if this remix is anything to go by, then not any more! Mike has shown his versatility as a producer by changing his style for this track. Mike's remix keeps much of the original elements of the David West remix. The vocal and Trancey melodies remain, but the bassline sounds a lot darker and seems more dramatic. This remix is equally as good as the original mixes by David West - but certainly make a nice additional choice to be played in a set. Overall, a very good tune and comes with four supurb versions. If Progressive Trance is your thing, then this tune MUST be added to your collection. Great work by the guys at AVA Recordings, and we're sure this is going to be a massive seller! 8/10 |
