 DJ Shah and Pedro Del Mar belong to the global scene’s busiest workaholics. The one – DJ Shah – is actually getting biggest ovations by the world’s premier DJ scene, press and the whole dance and electronic scene. You’re asking why? Well, who else is having a #1 in the international pop album charts and at the same time a #1 digital dance single result and a #2 with another project in the same week, followed by numerous further sales positions. The other – Pedro Del Mar – hasn't released that much music in the past 24 months but he’s the man in the background pulling the strings of the whole Shah-Music company and is responsible for the licensing of DJ Shah’s stuff as well the repertoire of numerous other 1st class artists to the world’s biggest labels. "Sunlounger – Another Day On The Terrace" (Armada) album on #1
Not that many debut albums caused such a sensation as the debut of DJ Shah’s Sunlounger album. But after the massive debut single „White Sand“ – who doesn’t remember this massive summer hit in 2006 – it propably hasn’t been such a big surprise. Together with the Armada crew, Shah created a very unique and outstanding album concept and project by producing not just another dance project but merging high quality chillout tunes with great balearic tracks. This 2CD concept didn’t convince just the electronic music fans but as well „normal customers“. That’s why the album went straight to #1 in the ITunes pop album charts in The Netherlands and reached as well Top 7 positions in Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal or Denmark to name a few. Some representives of the press compare Sunlounger with the world’s favourite Chicane. You haven’t heard of the new album yet? It’s the second year in a row that Shah made the race with one of his tunes on the world’s propably best selling electronic compilation. No one else than Tiesto compiled again 28 of the hottest tunes of the upcoming months featuring once again a Global Experience tune. But he’s not the only one supporting „Madras“: Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond or Markus Schulz are just a few big names supporting this tune in their shows and sets. But not only the DJ support works nice: the mp3 single insists since around four weeks in the Beatport Top 10 Trance charts with a peak position on #2. You’re prefering a vinyl release? Usually a producer is happy but a bit disappointed at the same time, when he reaches #2 in a sales chart. Even though it’s a great result, there has been one tune with better sales. But in the case of Global Experience it must have been a comfort that the number 1 track has also been another DJ Shah production he did with his friend and colleague DJ Cosmo. Anjunabeats’ „Purple Mood – One Night In Tokyo“ led the digitals sales by having the ‚Above & Beyond Remix’ as well as the ‚DJ Shah & DJ Cosmo Original Mix’ in the Top 5 and is featured on Above & Beyond’s very own Anjunabeats compilation. The rumors are big and the specs manifold. Nobody really knows what the upcoming DJ Shah album will be about. But who already listened to the upcoming new single „Who Will Find Me“ on Armin’s ‚A State Of Trance 2007’ album featuring amazing vocals by popular US singer „Adrina Thorpe“ can hardly await to listen to the rest of the album. Shah just announced that „the concept will be totally different to the Sunlounger album project including numerous outstanding vocals by artists who have never been featured on any other dance tune but as well big players who already sold multi million singles and albums in the past years“. One of central Europe’s oldest radio shows becomes 300. Besides the pre-recorded monthly global Mellomania radio shows in around 20 countries, DJ Shah and Pedro Del Mar do also broadcast their weekly „Mellomania Deluxe“ live show. Having been one of the first German radio shows broadcasting the newest trance and balearic tunes in the whole country, they did another innovative step in March 2007: Electronic fans around the world can now not only listen live through the net on www.etn.fm but also watch those guys on a live video stream during the whole show on www.internetradio.de. And once you’ve signed up to the free of charge Mellomania Community on www.mellomania.com, you can also chat live with the guys and vote for your favourites on the ‚Battle Of The Track’ voting.
