The first two editions of the 'High Contrast presents' series proved to be a successful concept, giving the artist a platform to showcase what his sound is all about. After the first two editions mixed by Marcel Woods and Joop, High Contrast has asked one of the biggest names in Trance to compile the 3rd chapter. Read on to find out more....

It’s been more than 4 years since the last mix CD, by the mighty Rank 1, saw the light of day and so it was well about time for something new.

With this new CD, Rank 1 have selected new, unreleased and exclusive material and of course the latest productions from Rank 1 themselves. Of course their latest chart breaking single together with Jochen Miller ‘And Then…’ is featured and furthermore you can find their sparkling new remix for Ronald van Gelderen's forthcoming single, ‘Embrace Me’.

To celebrate the release, in June, an international tour will start to promote the album.

Their name is synonymous to anthems, as there is no other artist who delivered as many theme songs as the mighty Rank 1. Events such like: Sensation, Trance Energy, Mysteryland and Innercity they all used one or more tracks for one of their editions.

Internationally, they burst into the scene with their legendary single ‘Airwave’, which entered the UK charts at #6, went #1 in the US Billboard dance chart and went to be the first ever Dutch no. 1 record in the European Dance chart. They pulled the same trick again with their remix for Cygnus X’s  single ‘Superstring’. A remix which went to be one of the biggest trance records to date.

After this, equally big singles would follow like: Such is Life, Awakening, Beats At Rank-1 Dotcom and, most recently, the singles: ‘And Then…’ (together with Jochen Miller) and ‘Life Less Ordinary’ (together with Alex M.O.R.P.H.). Both singles which climbed to the highest regions in International dance charts and on download portals. Besides putting out own works, they recently have been busy co-producing Armin van Buuren’s latest album ‘Imagine’.

DJ'ing weekly around the world as a live-act, they are still considered one of the biggest acts in the world of Trance. It shows the impact of their performances, as they only perform live on rare occasions.
