Goodgreef Future Trance Album Review
Goodgreef Future Trance - Mixed By Adam Sheridan & Tylor Leigh!Goodgreef Future Trance is the fantastic new download-only compilation  album from one of the UK's most renowned Trance brands. Adam Sheridan and Tylor Leigh, who have both come through the ranks at Goodgreef, take it in turns at a mix each in this two-mix compilation. Adam Sheridan mixes one first part, whilst Tylor Leigh mixes the other - with each part representing their clubbing style. Read on to find out more....

Adam Sheridan's mix demonstrates just why he's so highly rated across the world, and so loved by the Goodgreef crowd. He's built a set which flows perfectly and he's also added elements of creativity to make it stand out - particularly over Track 8, where he's layered a sample of another track over Mojado's 'Kaktus' to create a live mash-up. The combination works so well, it sounds like a brand new tune! Its this creativity which makes Adam Sheridan stand out from the rest. Only a handful of DJ's dare to take risks by trying something new during their sets, and Adam is one of them! This mix starts off at a fairly calm tempo, and begins with a Techier, Electro-edged sound - but gently climbs towards a harder, pacier direction towards the end of the set. He's also got the right balance of vocal and instrumental tunes throughout the set. Too many vocal tunes can often become annoying, whereas too many intrumental tunes can also become tedious too - so Adam has carefully broken the mix up with a few vocal tunes sandwiched between intrumental tunes so that we don't get too much of anything - the balance is just right! One thing which struck me about this mix is that, unlike most other albums, its not jam-packed with nineties anthems or commercial tunes. I recieve so many albums which all sound the same - they have the biggest Trance tunes from the last few years because they know that it appeals to the masses and will sell easily - however, thankfully, this album is very different. It gives us a bunch of tunes which are fresh, sound good, and haven't been overplayed on album after album for year after year. It also looks like Goodgreef have let the DJ's have free-reign over their mixes, because they play the style you'd expect to hear them play in clubs. I've never seen the point in labels choosing a handful of Trance classics, and then paying a well-known DJ just to mix them. In my opinion, if a DJ puts his/her name to an album, then that album should reflect their style - and Goodgreef have obviously realised that too, which is a huge bonus. The mixing is nice and smooth, the flow is perfect, and the tunes are also very good. Highlights from this mix include Mojado's 'Kaktus', Cosmic Gate's 'Body Of Conflict' and Adam Sheridan's very own 'Supernova'.

Next up, its Tylor-Leigh's mix. She kicks things off on a more Progressive tip, starting with man-of-the-moment, Deadmau5's, 'Complications', followed by 'Mighty Ducks' by Bolier and Coenraad. The mix then heads towards a more Tech-Trance sounding direction - with Tylor's very own 'Space 42' Tune, Re-Ward's 'Ensure' and then followed by 'The Bass' by another highly rated producer - Sander van Doorn. From there, its full-on peak-time Trance all the way, with awesome tunes from Stoneface & Terminal, Sean Tyas, Cosmic Gate and Bissen. Tylor-Leigh is a former Mixmag Future Hero - and this set proves just why! She's built the set up perfectly from start to finish with a combination of Progressive tunes, through to Tech-Trance, through to a more melodic sound, but without losing any flow at all. Each tune compliments the previous one, and each mix is silky smooth. I've only heard Tylor-Leigh a couple of times in the past and those have both been warm-up sets, so after this set, i'll definately be looking to see her play a later set in a club because this proves that she's more than capable of pulling off a cracking peak-time set! I thoroughly enjoyed this mix - in fact, its one that i've now 'promoted' to my in-car CD case to listen to on my travels. Very few mixes have that honour - I tend to listen to an album once, and then take it back out of my car again. When it finds a permanent home in my car, then that means its staying there for a long time! One of the best album mixes i've heard for a long time!

Overall, two superb mixes from two superb DJ's! It makes a nice change to hear an album that has some of the best tunes around from the present day, rather than regurgitated classics that we've heard time and time again. There's nothing wrong with classics of course, but I like an album to be fresh, full of nice (but unpredictable) tunes, and with a nice complimenting flow throughout the duration of the set - and finally, Goodgreef Future Trance is that album! This comes well recommended - particularly if you're quite broad minded and a fan of all of the sub-genres within the Trance scene. This covers everything from Progressive, Tech and Melodic, so there's something for everyone. 9/10

This album is available now, and can be purcheshed online via Itunes for download only. This album isn't set for a release in any other format.
