| The Tomorrow People - "Homewrecker" Review |
|
TheTranceArena.com's verdict: The Tomorrow People - Homewrecker (Original Mix): The original mix kicks things off with a tough and dark, yet bouncy and driving, bassline. In typical Digital Remedy style, this tune grabs you right from the very first beat. It combines Tech-Trance and Electro elements to give it a powerful, yet moody vibe, whilst also incorporating lighter Trancey chords during the breakdown to add a more uplifting vibe too. This is a powerful Techy monster which highlights just why Tech-Trance is so popular at the moment. The great thing about this tune is that it brings us a sound that is completely different from everything else out there. Occasionally, we have phases where some sub-genres begin to sound the same for a while - with very few artists willing to take risks by doing something different to other producers - but Lee Haslam and Paul Maddox have teamed up to prove that if anyone is going to try something new, then its going to be them - and they've done a fantastic job! This tune caters for everyone - those that like their Techy sound, those that like their tunes with a hint of Electro, and those that like gutsy breakdowns. Every time we review a Digital remedy release, we always seem to say that its their best tune so far - and we've got to say it again! We love this tune! Very well produced - sure to be a huge success! A fantastic bassline, supurb stabbing chords, a gret, moody, melody - and finally a Tech-Trance tune that sounds very different to what everyone else is offering at the moment. 9/10 The Tomorrow People - Homewrecker (Joey V Remix): Star of the future, Joey V, is on remix duties - and he's added a stunning remix to what was already a good tune in its original state. He's kept the best elements from the original mix, but added his own distinct twist to things by toughening up the bassline even more and swapping the Electroy elements with darker, more powerful, Techy elements. He's also swapped the lighter chords that featured in the breakdown of the original mix, and replaced those with stabbing, synthesized chords - and he's even thrown in a short breakbeat bassline for good measure to help break the tune up. This remix shows just why Joey V is highly rated and destined for big success in the future. He's come up with a stunning remix that oozes in quality. This is a great energetic remix that will destroy any dancefloor. Certain elements of this remix remind me of Richard Durand's sound, whilst other parts remind me of Cosmic Gate's sound - and that should be taken as a compliment because Cosmic Gate are legendary producers within the Trance scene, whilst Richard Durand is quite possibly the most consistent producer around at the moment. Hopefully we'll get to see more of Joey V at Digital Remedy if this is what we're going to expect! Awesome! 9/10
