The Tomorrow People - Homewrecker ReviewMichael Dow is a name that has risen to fame in 2007. Not only did he have a smash hit on Armada, but also two collaborative tracks with Lee Haslam on Digital Remedy as well as remixes for Intuition, Nukleuz, Soup & forthcoming on Spinnin'. Read on for more details about this tune....

Sector 7 is arguably the labels biggest release to date, from the day is was first sent to Lee Haslam back in March it has never left his sets with it even making an appearance on his live broadcast on Galaxy in April 2007 at the notorious Tidy weekender. After several requests, Michael signed the track to Digital Remedy and what a coup we have got. The track is tough, euphoric and very dark in places but balances superbly. The chord structure of the riff is really unique and simply oozes energy so if you love your trance tough, this is definitely for you!

On remix duties Digital Remedy have recruited the talents of Polish Tech Trance favourite Krzysztof Chochlow. Krzysztof again has been a firm favourite of Lee Haslam and indeed the label for some time so to get him on board and to remix this amazing record is testament to the labels profile right now.

Krzysztof’s interpretation keeps the energy of the original but with it gives it more of a techy groovey feel with some superb cuts, fills and effects to keep it interesting throughout. The riff sound he uses really cuts through and in the break it really catches the attention of the crowd before building back up and finishing them off with some pounding beats and percussion. His superb production shines through for all to see making this a mix not to be missed!

All in all yet another outstanding release for the label.

TheTranceArena.com's verdict:

Michael Dow - "Sector 7" (Original Mix): Sector 7 kicks off with a pounding, driving bassline with stabbing Trancey synths with a slight late 90's vibe - in fact, the first minute or so of the intro reminded me of the classic "Sanctuary" by Dejure - which is one of my all time favourite tracks. The intro climbs with a very uplifting vibe, before taking you towards a very atmospheric breakdown which builds up towards a very gutsy, powerful main melody with the aid of kick drums and other percussive elements, which are gradually brought in as the breakdown progresses. There's plenty of percussion, energy, Trancey synths and catchyness to make this track very appealing and loveable. This has peak-time clubbing written all over it - if there's one tune that will destroy a dancefloor during the main set at 2am, then this is going to be it! Very well produced, very catchy and very gutsy - the recipe for a perfect Trance dancefloor destroyer. Begging to be played over a loud club system. Superb track! 9/10

Michael Dow - "Sector 7" (Krzysztof Chochlow Remix): The Krzysztof Chochlow remix starts off with a very energetic, Techy-edged bassline with energy all the way. The intro climbs with a gutsy bassline which is helped along with hi-hats, a kick-drums and a stabbing chord, before working towards a more atmospheric direction. This remix has more of a funkier, bouncier feel to it than the original mix, and the breakdown is less dramatic and powerful too. This remix is more suited to those that like their tunes fast and furious. The bassline and accompanying percussive elements reminded me of Fabio Stein's distinctive sound, so if you're a fan of his work, I seriously recommend taking a listen to this remix because I think you'll like it. I quite liked this remix, but I felt that the breakdown was a bit disappointing. The rest of the tune was superb - but I just felt that the breakdown could have had a little bit more about it. The original mix was far better in my opinion because it had everything going for it. This remix was all about the bassline and build up. A great effort though, and still a good remix. 7/10
