M6 - "Destination 6 / Fragments" Review

Mark Sixma, another dutch wonderkid, raises the bar with each release. His previous tracks did quite the damage, but this one is set for serious dancefloor damage! Club owners, please re-check your insurance policies, DJ’s make sure you've got a quick way out of the club when dropping this. We don’t guarantee your safe escape when dropping these destructive monsters! You’ve been warned. Read on for more details about this tune....

Destination 6
Instant driving elements, and the introduction of a deep and melodic stab, suck you in straight away. Fasten your seatbelts, we are heading for destination 6! This signature sound leads the track forward in an astounding way. Trance melodies are being introduced slowly, leading to the break, which is pure euphoric matter. Amazing drive and melodies keep you strapped in for a long ride - and what a ride it is! Absolute rollercoaster material! One for the trance heads.

Fragments
Mark brings chopped up funkiness to the table with this downright slamming tech monster. Broken beats, freaky vocal elements and bleepy sounds introduce a deep and pounding kick. Hinting electro, techtrance and melodic uplifting at the same time, you can well tell this is a synergy of various styles. Pure, yet dangerous, chemistry, where the lead is one earpiercing son of- a... Bouncing along very nicely, there is no way back after the break! Pure destruction all around!

TheTranceArena.com's verdict:

M6 - "Destination 6": Destination 6 starts with a pounding, chunky, funky-vibed bassline which really starts the tune off with a bang! The melody then builds up with stabbing Trancey chords and a warping bassline which reminds me off a cross between a Michael Woods and a Matt Darey of 2003-2006 style. The breakdown consists of lighter melodic chords, before working towards more powerful, full-on synths which climb and climb to a peak, before the bassline kicks back in again towards the main part of the tune. From there on, the chords get more powerful, with a lighter melody accompanying it in the background, which slowly gets louder to eventually become the main melody again. This is a very well produced tune and offers something for everyone - those that like their calmer Trance tunes, those that like a big of energy, and those that like powerful, atmospheric, breakdowns. This is only the second release from Octavius, so i'm really looking forward to hearing more in the future! 9/10

M6 - "Fragments": Fragments is the harder, Techier tune of this package. It starts off with darker, twisted percussive elements with plenty of swoops and stabs, accompanied with a pounding, driving bassline! As the tune builds, Trancey chords are slowly introduced to form the main melody. The breakdown is a full on Euphoric monster that allows for a really long hands-in-the-air moment, before the bassline kicks back in with a bang! This is a fantastic tune combining euphoric Trancey synths with a dark, twisted, Tech-Trance bassline which would sound awesome in a Marcel Woods or Marco V set. It also allows for a great cross-over tune from a full-on Trance set, to more of a Techier direction. If you imagine a Marcel Woods/Marco V style Tech-Trance bassline, with the euphoric elements of a Darren Tate production, then this is what "Fragments" gives you! Ideal for both Trance fans, and for those that prefer things with a Techier direction. Very well produced and very addictive too. I can't wait to hear this in a club! 9/10
