Frankly I'm a ticking time bomb of fury at the moment. Venting my anger here may well provide me with some sort of therapy before I go mental.
Weddings and new houses, never, ever, ever do both at the same time.
Finally found the perfect Sinatra singer for the wedding. My only stipulation on the whole day was that we had a really good swing singer for an hour. Searched high and low and finally found one. Not cheap...not cheap at all. But you only get married once and we're doing everything else as cheap as possible.
Now, just got our mortgage offer through for the place we live in at the moment (buying it off the old man). Just found out that we've got a damp problem and all the new flooring will have to come up amounting to bills of over a grand. That's not including the various other damp proofing and rendering that needs to be done. Let be honest im looking at a few grand. A few grand that I don't have to be precise.
Wind back to Sat. I had to drive down to Southampton for a wedding. One of the other halfs distant cousins who I've never even heard of but 'we'd better go' as they will be invited to ours.
Three hours drive in traffic and pouring rain. Finally arrive and can't find anywhere to park.
Do a three point turn and smack the back of the car on a lamp-post. Welcome to another £400 to replace the whole bumper!
So bang goes my singer for the Wedding and hello to the misery of home ownership, car repairs and all the crap that comes with it.
*UPDATE*
Insult to injury. Imagine the happiness when I realised my friends Stag weekend in Newquay co-incided with Slinky Sundays at the Tall Trees venue. J00F and John Askew both playing.
Imagine my disappointment ten minutes ago when I read on the Slinky webisite that Tall Tree's Newquay has closed down.
Still at least the weather has been good eh!
