It basically allows you to search for accomodation in the specific area that you want to go to abroad, for as many nights as you like, at the budget you want to spend, for example, if you wanted 16 nights in San Antonio, Ibiza, and only wanted to spend £300, then this lets you do it!
With travel agents, you have to go to the places they have on offer (which many not even be close to San Antonio), for the amount of nights that they offer, and at the price they give you.
It also means you don't have to put up with annoying reps when you're out there!
18 months ago, myself and my ex used this site to book 14 days in Majorca for just £360! With travel agents, it would have cost around £600 for the two of us at the time of year we went (peak time June). OK, so we had to book our plane tickets independantly on top of that (this site excludes flights), but we still saved around £150!
